Intimacy in Sleeping Bags
Though it doesn’t rank quite as high on the list of
intimate fantasies as securing a spot in the mile-high club, many couples
have considered the prospect of having an evening romp within the confines
of a sleeping bag out in the woods.
Sex in a sleeping bag can indeed be an exciting and pleasurable
experience for adventurous partners.
Veterans of this particular practice cite two reasons for why
sleeping bag intercourse can be quite electrifying.
The first is the prospect of getting caught, however small, as it
does amount to having sex out in the open, where other campers or a ranger
may interrupt your coitus. The
second is the fact that there isn’t much room to maneuver in a sleeping bag,
so you and your partner will be pressed tightly against each other the
entire time. Some people have
likened it to light bondage, which can be quite erotic.
If you’re interested in deriving just such a use out of
your sleeping bag, here are a few tips to ensure that you don’t end up
regretting your outdoor tryst.
- Choose Your
Spot Wisely – although the possibility of getting caught is there,
this shouldn’t be your objective.
Find a location that is a fair distance off any used trails, preferably
on higher ground, and definitely not on areas covered with poison ivy or
poison oak, or you’ll be scratching a very different sort of itch for
the rest of your trip.
- Control
Noise Levels – you may be camped out in the middle of nowhere, but
unless the spot is truly desolate, chances are that there may be other
folks about, or forest rangers patrolling.
You may be tempted to cry out and unleash your screams of
passion, but you’re better off not risking any unnecessary attention,
let alone attacks from animals who are drawn to the sounds.
- Take Out
Your Trash – after you’ve done the deed, you may have garbage like
used condoms and tissues lying about.
Don’t just toss these away or bury them, but instead seal them in
a plastic bag to dispose of properly once you get back to civilization.
-
Protect Your Sleeping Bag –
sweat and bodily fluids can be heck on sleeping bags, slowly corroding
and deteriorating them. You may
wish to bring a blanket or an inner lining that you can use to absorb
these substances, thereby preserving your sleeping bag from the worst
inevitable effects of your intercourse.
- Beware of
Bears – sex is generally not recommended in locations inhabited by
bears. These fearsome forest
dwellers tend to get intrigued, and subsequently drawn to, the odors and
pheromones that humans produce during sex.
The last thing you want bearing down on you when you’re naked and
rolling around in a sleeping bag is a disturbed bear.
- The Two-Bag
Option – if you aren’t thrilled about the idea of a tight squeeze
while engaging in intercourse, consider bringing two sleeping bags that
can zip together, for added comfort and maneuverability.
Of course, if you find later on that you want to stick it out in
a single bag, the spare can simply be left in its packing bag, or as a
back-up in case things go awry.
